Description

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116523-2 is a luxury sport chronograph that blends performance and elegance. It features a 40mm case crafted from stainless steel and 18K yellow gold (Rolesor), paired with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and an 18K yellow gold tachymetric bezel scaled to 400 units per hour. The crisp white dial includes luminous baton hands and hour markers, three sub-dials (30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock), and an outer minute track for enhanced readability. Powering the watch is the in-house Rolex Calibre 4130 automatic movement—equipped with 44 jewels, a 72-hour power reserve, and anti-shock parachrom hairspring—certified as an official chronometer. It comes with a two-tone Oyster bracelet (stainless steel and 18K yellow gold) secured by an Oysterlock safety clasp, and offers water resistance up to 100 meters (330 feet).

Superclone: Features a Rolex decorated movement ‘Dandong 4130/4131/4132 depending on the model.’
AAA: It comes with an Asian clone of the ETA 7750 movement. This movement lacks a Rolex-decorated rotor and parts and is slightly thicker than the original, making the watch case 12.6mm thick compared to the 12.2mm thickness of the Superclone and the original.
Finishing
Superclone: Uses 904L steel, which is more durable and harder to work with, resulting in better finishing. The superior finishing is detectable only upon close inspection or when compared to an authentic watch.
AAA: Uses 316L steel. While it still has high-level finishing, it is not as refined as the Superclone.
Power Reserve
Superclone: Offers a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
AAA: Offers a power reserve of 40 hours.
Water Resistance
Superclone: Waterproof up to 50 meters.
AAA: It is water-resistant, allowing for showering and swimming, but it is not suitable for diving(who would dive with a Daytona anyway?).
Weight
Superclone: The weight margin is up to 5 grams, depending on the model. Generally, we aim to match the exact weight of the authentic Rolex (considering the number of links and bracelet type).
AAA: Has an error margin of 13 grams.
